arvato digital services concludes maintenance contract with IBM for media browser listening systems used in retail outlets.
Gütersloh, Germany - August 21, 2008 -- arvato digital services and IBM have concluded a maintenance contract on the eve of the Games Convention in Leipzig.
This contract, which is applicable across Europe, regulates the on-site servicing of the Media Browser Catalog Terminals used by arvato digital services customers in retail outlets. The contract also stipulates the conditions for call management, storage of replacement machines, logistics and the on-site deployment of IBM technicians for the replacement of defective systems.
In future, if a fault with a terminal is reported before midday anywhere in Europe, it will be possible to rectify it by the end of the following day. After a set-up phase in which IBM technicians will be given training across Europe, the system is due to go into operation before the end of this year. By implementing this measure, arvato digital services is expanding the availability and service quality of the Media Browser information systems for its European retail customers.
